Guest speaker and former GED graduate of The Pruden Center (now CCAP), Shanika Smith delivered an encouraging and inspiring message to students and staff at the GED program's end-of-year celebration. Shanika emphasized the importance of perseverance and staying focused on the journey toward achieving one's goals.
“My GED was more than just a certificate—it was proof that I could rewrite my future,” Shanika told attendees. “Once I believed in myself, nothing was out of reach.”
Earning her GED sparked newfound confidence, leading her to pursue higher education. Shanika went on to earn associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees. She is now a licensed therapist and owner of Purposeful Living Wellness, LLC in Windsor, VA.
